Some security alarm companies will offer very low cost (or perhaps even "free") equipment installation. However, these companies will charge a very high rate for 24-hour monitoring. In addition, many times these companies will monitor from out-of-state, such as Texas or Florida, which could potentially allow for location or address confusion when dispatching the police or emergency services.
